The musical concept behind this ensemble is to fuse the style of a Russian circus band with the improvisational techniques of Sun Ra and Charles Mingus. The group was originally formed to accompany a modern dance solo at the 2008 Minnesota Fringe Festival (the show was Cast of Dancing Delights, by choreographer Suzanne Wiltgen). We are currently performing a live improvised soundtrack to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920).
