Back to Renovation Reviews Kelly Rossum Renovation Critics raved over the first CD released by trumpeter Rossum and his lively quintet, Party’s Over/Begun, calling the 2002 recording bold and adventurous. This second album by the Twin Cities transplant, released in May on the jazz label 612 Sides, solidifies what the local jazz scene has come to love about him: studious authority and the knowledge necessary to pull off unconventional compositions and instrumental choices. While he exorcises many of his wilder ideas with his all-improv jazz/rock/metal band Electropolis, he likes to work technology into his jazz as well.
