January 6 Jazz Is Now! Nonet performed at the Dakota late night series, 11:30pm,
featuring Woody Witt, tenor saxophone
January 7 Kelly Rossum Quartet (Kelly Rossum, trumpet; Chris Thomson, tenor; Chris Bates, bass; JT Bates, drums) featuring special guest artist: Woody Witt, tenor; performed at the Dakota late night series, 11:30pm.
January 11–14 Kelly attended the annual IAJE convention in New York, NY
January 10–24 Kelly was involved in business meetings and music sessions in New York, NY.
January 2526 Kelly was the featured clinician for Myra Jazz Festival in Grand Forks, ND, critiquing high school and middle school bands. He also joined the Myra Jazz Arts Group in concert at 1:00 on the 25th.

February 3 Jazz Is Now! Nonet performed at the Dakota late night series, 11:30pm
February 4 Jack Brass Band CD release party at the Nomad. Kelly appeared as featured soloist on the new JBB recording “You Don’t Know Me”
February 8 Electropolis recorded an “in-studio” performance for Minnesota Public Radio’s 89.3 The Current.
February 12 Electropolis was featured on the Current’s Local Show, 89.3 FM. Listen to the archived audio of the show.
February 17 Kelly played in the new music for jazz ensemble reading session at the MMEA Midwinter Clinic sponsored by the Minnesota Chapter of the International Association of Jazz Educators.
February 17 The Minnesota Chapter of the International Association of Jazz Educators had its annual meeting at 4:00pm in Board Room #2 of the Hilton Hotel as part of the MMEA Midwinter Clinic. Visit IAJE Minnesota's new chapter website.
February 17 ‘Out To Lunch’ performed the Music of Eric Dolphy. Dave Hagedorn, vibes; Dave Milne, sax and bass clarinet; Kelly Rossum, trumpet; Phil Hey, drums; Tom Lewis, bass. Also performing was the St. Olaf College Jazz Ensemble I under the direction of Dave Hagedorn. The show started at 8:00 pm at the Pause at Buntrock Commons, St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN. February 21 Electropolis opened the 2006 Spark Festival of Electronic Music and Art at the University of Minnesota’s Coffman Memorial Union.
February 22 Kelly performed with Pete Whitman’s X-Tet at the Artists’ Quarter
February 24, 25 Kelly joined Nachito Herrera and his band at the Dakota for a weekend of Cuban Jazz.
February 26 Kelly performed at Judson Memorial Baptist Church’s Annual Jazz Service in South Minneapolis.
March 4 Kelly adjudicated at the University of Minnesota’s Jazz Festival
March 4 A rare performance of “Movement for trumpet in 3 Pieces” by Kelly Rossum was given at the Three Dances Annual Birthday Celebration at Patrick’s Cabaret.
March 10 Kelly presented a masterclass as part of MacPhail Center for Music's professional development series entitled, "Improvising for Classical Musicians."
March 11 The Ellen Lease and Pat Moriarty Quintet performed at the Dakota late night series. Kelly Rossum, Chris Bates and Dave Stanoch joined Pat and Ellen for a great night of music.

MacPhail Faculty Trio performed at a private event.
March 16 Kelly Rossum gave a clinic at the Stillwater, MN Student Jazz Festival. The MacPhail Faculty Quintet also performed that evening on the final concert.
March 17, 18 Nachito Herrera presented a weekend of music straight from the book of Earth, Wind and Fire - at the Dakota. Kelly joined the band for both nights.
March 23 Kelly performed with Pete Whitman's X-Tet at the Artists' Quarter
March 24 Electropolis improvised some grooves at the Nomad World Pub in Minneapolis.
March 26 MacPhail Center for Music presented its annual Concerto and Aria concert at Sundin Hall on the Hamline University campus. Kelly Rossum assisted with the orchestra as principal trumpet for
the concert.
April 7 Cedar Avenue Big Band performed at a private event in St. Cloud, MN
April 11 The Pat Moriarty/ Ellen Lease quintet performed on the Sound Check series at the Southern Theater, sponsored by the American Composer’s Forum.
April 18 MacPhail’s Student Jazz Recital. Please join Kelly Rossum at 7:00pm to hear some of MacPhail Center for Music’s students improvise in a live concert setting. FREE, 4th Floor Auditorium.
April 20, 21 Bob Mintzer, Kelly Rossum and Dave Ziegner were featured performers and clinicians at the 10th Annual - Northern Michigan University Jazz Festival. The final concert featured one band from the festival; selected as an outstanding student group. In addition, the NMU Jazz Combo was joined by trumpeter Kelly Rossum. After an intermission, the NMU Jazz Band took the stage and performed with saxophonist Bob Mintzer.
April 22 Kelly helped celebrate Nachito Herrera’s CD release, “Live at the Dakota: Vol. 2” at the Dakota.
April 27 Kelly preformed with Pete Whitman's X-Tet at the Artists' Quarter
May 7 Pete Whitman’s X-et were the featured performers at the Minneapolis Musicians’ Union annual party. Private event.
May 8 Kelly played with the Cedar Avenue Big Band at O’Garas in St. Paul
May 12, 13 Kelly Rossum and his quintet presented the music of Billy Strayhorn for two nights at the Dakota. 11:30pm start time. Chris Thomson, Bryan Nichols, Chris Bates and JT Bates joined Kelly for both of these shows.
May 19, 20 Nachito Herrera was on the Dakota’s weekend lineup. Kelly played at both of these shows.
May 25 Kelly performed with Pete Whitman's X-Tet at the Artists' Quarter
June 1 Electropolis was at the Cabooze
June 2, 3 “Out To Lunch: the music of Eric Dolphy” was performed at the Artists’ Quarter
in St. Paul. These performances were recorded for an upcoming live CD!
June 11 Nachito Herrera and his band, including Kelly, performed at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
June 12 Kelly performed with the Cedar Avenue Big Band at O'Garas
June 14 The MacPhail Faculty jazz trio performed at a private fundraising event.
June 20 American Composers Forum presented – Sound Check, a series at the Southern Theater. Kelly Rossum’s composition: “Challenger Deep” was performed. Featured musicians included:
Kelly Rossum, Chris Thomson, Scott Fultz, Adam Rossmiller, Scott Agster, Bryan Nichols, Adam Linz, JT Bates, and Mike Lewis.
June 24 David Young, Kelly Rossum and Dave Jensen had a “Trumpet Summit” at 12:00 noon during the Hot Summer Jazz Festival on the Nicollet Stage hosted by MacPhail Center for Music.
June 24 The IAJE Minnesota chapter’s resource team performed at 6:00pm on the same stage. Kelly gathered together some of Minnesota’s finest for this performance.
June 25 Kelly joined Nachito Herrera on the Hot Summer Jazz Festival’s main stage at Peavey Plaza in downtown Minneapolis.
June 25 The MacPhail Center for Music jazz faculty performed a set at the Hot Summer Jazz festival on the Nicollet stage.
June 29 Kelly performed with Pete Whitman's X-Tet at the Artists' Quarter
June 30 The Kelly Rossum Quintet: Kelly Rossum, Chris Thomson, Bryan Nichols, Chris Bates, JT Bates - performed at the Late Night series at the Dakota.
July 21 MacPhail Jazz Camp (Apple Valley) concert was at the Dakota.
July 19 Rhonda Laurie invited Kelly Rossum to perform with her as a special guest at Rossi’s in Downtown Minneapolis.

August 25 Kelly Rossum, Bryan Nichols and Adam Linz will be playing the music of Thelonious Monk at the Dakota’s Late Night series.
August 26 The Cedar Avenue Big Band has a private performance in Duluth, MN. Kelly will be on that show.
